Way to start out the week! With a field trip to Mankato and visit the studio where Z99 and other stations are broadcasted/created. We went and visited the facility and at first had a hard time finding it , but eventually we got there and were welcomed by the fantastic "secretary" who did so much more than you would think. We were then taken around the building and shown all of the rooms where they recorded their commercials or spoke live on the radio. They had four stations that were broadcasted from that one location and all the recording rooms were right next to each other. We then went to Perkins and had a delicious meal paid for by the most amazing teacher named Mrs. Brinkman. We then had a long bus ride because we HAD to get back to school before noon. Then we had regular school and practice and all that great stuff. Well that's about it yup! ;)
CHICAGO!!!!! It was so awesome and I just wish we could have trips like this every single weekend #noschool. First off we had an amazing time playing and singing at the MSU campus for two music professors who had great advice and also helped us a lot. For choir I think it was one of the best performances we had and the same goes for band. Sadly throughout our whole trip it was a wee bit chilly, but luckily the hotel/water park that we stayed at was really hot and had a fitness center across the street with about a hundred workout sets and a Basketball Court! The place we stayed at was called Key Lime Cove, had five water slides, a lazy river, and basketball hoops, but the hot tub was only for people 18 and up and they had a really small wave pool. The chlorine made my skin really dry and itchy so I only went swimming once, but since I didn't know that the fitness center was available to us or that it had a basketball court I stayed in my room and hung out with my roommates (Josh and Sam G, Shad). The long bus ride wasn't so bad because we watched Frozen and I had a secret place to sleep between two chairs on the floor. When we got to the hotel it was already 9:30 and we immediately threw our stuff in our rooms and went down to the park and swam. This hotel was so rich, the keycard was actually a memory card thingy attached to our wristbands that you had to swipe in front of a scanner to get into your room. Since it was already two in the morning when anyone even thought about going to sleep I stayed up and watched four or five shows on Netflix called White Collar. The Wifi started going bad around four and since I was going to go with Josh, Mrs. Brinkman, Mrs. Syverson, and some other people to the Fitness Center at five I just stuck it out and played a couple of games. In the morning Josh's alarm went off and I knocked on the rooms of the people who said that they wanted to come and workout with us, but none of them responded or woke up. I went downstairs with Josh and met up with Mrs. Brinkman and Mrs. Syverson and we all walked over to the Fitness Center together. At the Center there were a bunch of old people, but the sad part was that most of them were ripped and a lot of them were benching or lifting more or the same amount as I can. After running, lifting, and finally finding the basketballs I played/shot around and went back to the hotel to get ready to go to Cracker Barrel for our breakfast which was amazing. Since we were such a big group it took a little while to get our food, but there was a game on the table to play and I mastered it by the time our food got there which kept me distracted. Our table finished our food and almost left before the boys at the table next to us even got their food. Before we left I beat Ian Glassic in a game of Checkers and we left to go and explore Chicago. We took a boat ride that involved a lot of wind, cold, and a cranky tour guide. Our guide was a lady of about 30-40 of age who got mad whenever someone stood on the benches and four people did. Lydia, Carter, Sam Grev, and Jared Willaby all stood on the bench. The funny part was that Jared was so sorry and shocked that he even stood on the bench that he sort of froze on top of the bench and got called out by the tour guide who supposedly has 20-15 vision. We saw the building that was in the third Transformer movie and also a parking building that was one of the Batman/Dark Knight movies. |
