The Sixties Garage Bands
Garage Bands- The Kinks, Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Kingsmen, The Sonics, The Seeds, 13th Floor Elevators, The Shadows of Knight, The Standells, Count Five, The Knaves, The Knickerbockers, and The Electric Prunes are just some of the many garage bands of the 1960's. Garage Band music was only popular for a very short period of time, but it had dozens of bands and multiple hits on the regional and national charts. The main time frame for Garage Band music is from 1963-1968, but while it was popular in the 60's it was not given its own genre of music. The reason that it got the name Garage Bands was because many of the bands were formed in garages

Paul Revere & the Raiders- Paul Revere & the Raiders was an American rock band that started in the late 50's and grew to fame in the mid-60's early 70's with some of their top songs: "Indian Reservation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian)" , "Kicks", "Good Thing", "Hungry", and "Him or Me. . . What It's Gonna Be?". In 1963 the Raiders included Paul Revere, Mark Lindsay, drummer Mike "Smitty" Smith, guitarist Drake Levin, and bassist Mike "Doc" Holliday, who was replaced in early 1965 by Phil Volk. Throughout the 54 years that the band performed there were over 33 different members.
